Another Exhibition Expert!

5th graders are continuing the process of finding information with our most recent expert, Veronica Silva from Consejo Nacional de Television. Mrs. Silva discussed stereotypes portrayed on T.V. During the presentation, topics like messages we receive from television programs and the effects stereotypes can have on our identity were discussed. Finally, Mrs. Silva encouraged 5th graders to use technology and media positively to take action.

Our First Expert Speaker

5th grade students listened to their first exhibition expert speaker this past Friday, August 18th when Shai Agosin, president of the Jewish community in Santiago, visited our school. Mr. Agosin shared his knowledge and experience about discrimination and stereotyping in society. He also discussed the new anti-discrimination laws that were recently passed in Chile. 5th grade students asked thoughtful questions related to their exhibition group's area of interest.
Mr. Agosin's presentation was a great way for the students to find  information as part of the inquiry process.
