We got it started!

Yesterday was the official opening to the exhibition! All the students went to the Little Gym to hear a welcome message from Miss Isabel and watch videos of the exhibition from the years 2007 and 2008. Two students from sixth grade also came to the assembly to answer questions from this year's grade five students. The questions were great and the sixth grade students really showed exactly how powerful and successful the exhibition is in their learning. It was a great assembly and everyone left excited and ready....to get it started!

Take a look at the slideshow of the pictures on the right hand side of the blog!

  1. This week so far we, 5E, have been investigating the central idea. We have also investigated and shared our different areas of interest related to children´s rights. We have had fun seeing the videos from last year and brainstorming different ideas, however we are very anxious about making our groups.

The more we investigate and explore, the more excited we are and the more we want to know.

  2. Today, we had to choose the groups. To do it, we had to choose 3 areas of interest and 3 people we wanted to work with. A while later, the groups were done! After that, we had to work in groups brainstorming ideas related to the topic your group had. Some groups finished first and could select the 2 most important ideas they brainstormed.
When we finished that, we went to the library to hear Mr. Schkolnik talk about his books, we also made questions about his book related to our Exhibition topic called: "Cuentos de los derechos del niƱo". We had a lot of fun!

  3. Wow! I am so happy to hear that both 5E and 5A are really enjoying our exhibition journey so far! It sounds like you are working hard to gain a deeper understanding of our topic and develop it more in your small working groups.

What has been the most interesting thing you have done so far? Are you starting to develop questions that you would like to investigate?

Looking forward to seeing what you think!
